Job Description
As part of Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE), the Delivery Manager ensures the successful delivery of advisory and build programs across data center, cloud, migration, BCDR, and transformation initiatives. The DM acts as the primary interface between customers, delivery teams, and business stakeholders, aligning project delivery with strategic business goals. The role safeguards execution quality, drives customer satisfaction, ensures compliance with governance frameworks, and enables continuous improvement and innovation in delivery. The DM is accountable for coordinating delivery across hybrid IT landscapes (on-premises, private, and multi-cloud), managing risks and dependencies, and ensuring that all delivery scopes are executed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. This role balances strategic client engagement, program-level governance, and leadership of delivery teams, ensuring reliable outcomes, measurable business value, and long-term customer success.
Key Responsibilities
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the primary point of contact for delivery with customer executives and IT leadership.
- Translate client business requirements into delivery objectives and measurable KPIs.
- Build trusted relationships and influence senior stakeholders across industries (banking, telecom, energy, government).
- Develop and deliver executive-level presentations and stakeholder engagement workshops.
- Identify and drive upselling/cross-selling opportunities during project delivery, positioning as a long-term trusted advisor.
Delivery Excellence
- Shape and support the delivery of data center build, consolidation, migration, and transformation projects, from assessment and high-level design through to implementation.
- Define and execute data center technology strategies, including transition roadmaps and implementation approaches.
- Conduct facilities and technology assessments to validate readiness and identify improvement opportunities.
- Lead the design, detailed architecture, and build activities for infrastructure and hybrid cloud environments.
- Plan and execute application, workload, and infrastructure migrations, ensuring smooth transition during projects.
- Perform data discovery and infrastructure validation, including bundling criteria, migration option analysis, risk assessment, and vendor participation analysis.
- Deliver high-quality project outputs such as designs, runbooks, assessment reports, and migration plans.
- Design and embed robust Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BCDR) / High Availability (HA) solutions into projects based on client requirements.
- Lead migration and transformation initiatives to modernize IT infrastructure and align enterprise technology with business objectives.
- Apply FinOps practices to optimize cloud resource usage, cost visibility, and financial accountability during transformation and delivery.
- Establish standardized delivery processes and frameworks, ensuring operational efficiency and optimized resource allocation across projects.
Financial & Contractual Management
- Track delivery against contractual obligations, ensuring scope adherence and quality.
- Support pre-sales and renewal activities by contributing to RFP responses, Statements of Work (SoWs), and project handover planning.
- Manage delivery risks, dependencies, and escalations to ensure successful project outcomes and client satisfaction.
- Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and profitability (P&L), identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring financial health.
- Provide financial reports and insights on project performance, highlighting risks and opportunities.
Leadership & Innovation
- Lead large-scale projects, coordinating delivery teams for data center migration and consolidation.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering knowledge sharing and reusable best practices.
- Maintain expert-level knowledge in key areas such as cloud, hyper-converged infrastructure, and business resiliency.
- Drive accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Identify and adopt emerging technologies (e.g., observability, AI/ML-enabled monitoring).
- Provide functional leadership across technical disciplines (infrastructure, cloud, security, databases), ensuring alignment and collaboration.
- Promote continuous learning by staying updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging delivery methodologies.
- Functionally lead a team of technical leads across various disciplines, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
- Provide guidance and support to project teams, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Serve as the escalation point for resolving technical or operational challenges during project execution.
Pre-Sales & Business Support
- Assist Solutions Architects in creating Statements of Work (SoWs) as needed.
- Lead As-Is/To-Be consulting workshops with customers to support strategic opportunities.
- Collaborate with Sales, Solutions Architects, and other technical SMEs on strategic pursuits to generate proposals and SoWs.
- Identify business opportunities for Cyber Recovery solutions, DC/DR, virtualization, private cloud, or public cloud by leveraging benchmark data and supporting high-level cost-benefit analyses.
Technical & Professional Skills
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of multi-cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, VMware, OpenStack, OpenShift, etc.).
- Facilitate technical discussions to address project complexities and provide solutions for scalability and modernization.
- Drive innovation by integrating industry best practices and emerging technologies into project strategies.
- Establish and maintain standardized delivery processes and frameworks to ensure consistency across projects.
- Monitor and optimize resource allocation to achieve operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, security protocols, and relevant regulations.
- Proven expertise in Data Center Strategy, Discovery, Migration, and Consolidation methodologies.
- Experience in the design, engineering, and architecture of large-scale Data Center infrastructures.
- Solid background in IT Enterprise management, systems integration, and consulting across industries such as oil & gas, telecom, and banking.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing Disaster Recovery / High Availability (DR/HA) architectures.
- Knowledge and hands-on expertise in database platforms and virtualization technologies.
- Practical experience with enterprise operating systems, including VMware, Solaris, AIX, and Linux.
- Familiarity with enterprise governance models (TOGAF, COBIT) and service management tools (ServiceNow, Remedy, Jira).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills for executive-level stakeholders.
- Exposure to DevOps, SecOps, and containerization platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker) to support modern delivery models.
- Hands-on understanding of multi-cloud ecosystems including VMware, OpenStack, and Red Hat OpenShift in addition to AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI.
Certifications (Preferred)
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Architect Professional.
- TOGAF 9/10 Certified Enterprise Architect.
- VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX).
- FinOps Certified Practitioner / Advanced.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
