Job Description
We are seeking an experienced 4G/5G Radio Expert with complementary Devices ecosystem understanding (Mobile & CPEs) and Data Analytics skills to join our Customer Experience team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in RAN performance and optimization, mobility management, and end-to-end radio troubleshooting, identify device issues through signaling traces and data analytics, while also applying advanced data handling techniques to enhance insights, analysis, and automation.
The primary emphasis of this role is on Radio Access Network expertise, with device knowledge and data-driven analytical capabilities serving as a strategic enabler to drive customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Radio Access Network Performance & Optimization
- Monitor and analyze LTE/5G RAN KPIs/KQIs related to coverage, capacity, mobility, and accessibility.
- Perform end-to-end troubleshooting of radio issues using OSS, SmartCare and traces.
- Identify root causes of degradations such as drops, handover failures, and throughput issues.
- Collaborate with planning, optimization, and core teams to ensure consistent customer experience.
- Support RAN feature testing, parameter tuning, and new technology introduction (NSA/SA 5G).
- Familiarity with radio tools like MapInfo, Geolocation etc. to support the RAN Performance analyzing.
Device Ecosystem Understanding
- Analyze device capabilities, modem behavior, and chipset differences affecting network KPIs.
- Correlate device-level metrics (CA combinations, EN-DC support, bandwidth handling, etc.) with RAN performance.
Data Analytics & Automation
- Extract, process, and analyze large-scale RAN datasets using Python, SQL, and big data platforms.
- Develop and automate dashboards using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik Sense for RAN and device KPIs.
- Automate performance reporting and root cause analysis using available tools.
- Correlate customer experience indicators with RAN performance metrics.
Customer Experience Focus
- Derive actionable insights from user-centric data (e.g., Ookla, CEM, probe data).
- Translate technical RAN performance outcomes into customer experience impact.
- Support Customer Experience Management (CEM) platforms with AI/ML-driven insights.
- Contribute to strategies for 5G service assurance and next-generation RAN optimization.
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in LTE/5G RAN performance, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with multi-vendor RAN environments (Huawei, Ericsson, Nokia).
- Knowledge of end-to-end mobile network architecture (RAN, EPC, 5GC).
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and related
- Familiarity with big data tools (Spark, Kafka, Hadoop) and visualization platforms (Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience with RAN monitoring tools, OSS, and protocol analyzers.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work across cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field.
